The preferential status for goods originating in Great Britain is abolished as of January 1, 2021

On 31 December 2020, European legislation ceased to apply preferential status to goods within the United Kingdom, in accordance with the agreement reached under the “Agreement on the withdrawal” of the United Kingdom from the European Union.

Based on that, the exit of Great Britain from the European Union, from 01.01.2020, the preferential status for goods originating from Great Britain is abolished, and the obligation to calculate import duties at the customs rate is applied in accordance with the valid Law on Customs Tariff of BiH – full import duties have to be calculated.

The same is applied in the opposite direction, in export of the goods from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Kingdom, when full import duties are charged for goods from BiH in the United Kingdom.

Other measures and regulations with the United Kingdom are applied as before in accordance with the rules of the World Trade Organization.
